Crockett

Carved on a 1929 Full Horn Buffalo Nickel is Hobo Nickel Crockett. Crockett is shown as as rough and tumble mountain man / frontier man and has sculpted facial features, a full beard, and is wearing a coonskin cap (skinned raccoon cap). The raccoon's head and tail are fully defined, with the raccoon's tail sporting clearly visible stripes. The tail is resting on Crockett's shoulder while gently wrapping around his neck.
