Carved on a 1936 Full Horn Buffalo Nickel is Frankie. Frankie is carved with great facial features such as a slim face, large nose, and piercing eyes. He is wearing a fedora (hat) and has a matchstick hanging out of his mouth, which is inlaid with 24 karat yellow gold and copper.   SOLD


Herr Pickelhaube Hobo Nickel Buffalo Nickel - Reverse Of Herr Pickelhaube Hobo Nickel

#66 Herr Pickelhaube Hobo Nickel

Carved on a 1937 Full Horn Buffalo Nickel is a WWI (World War One - The Great War) German Soldier wearing a Pickelhaube helmet. The spike was pierced from a second Buffalo Nickel and was carefully soldered onto the helmet using silver solder. There is no visible seam between coin and spike, and this addition to the coin should be very durable. The Soldier, Herr Pickelhaube, has a nicely carved ear, mustache and facial features. The field is clean, and the rim of the nickel has a milligrained edge.
