My latest Hobo Nickel carving is titled "Wolf." Wolf is carved on a 1936 Full Horn Buffalo Nickel. The carving has great features & fur. Wolf is encircled by a miligrained edge & running leaf border. The carving is darkened with ink to accent. The wolf’s eyes are inlaid with 24 karat yellow gold.   SOLD

Herr Pickelhaube Hobo Nickel  Buffalo Nickel - Reverse Of Herr Pickelhaube

Herr Pickelhaube Hobo Nickel

Carved on a 1937 Full Horn Buffalo Nickel is a WWI (World War One - The Great War) German Soldier wearing a Pickelhaube helmet. The spike was pierced from a second Buffalo Nickel and was carefully soldered onto the helmet using silver solder. There is no visible seam between coin and spike, and this addition to the coin should be very durable. The Soldier, Herr Pickelhaube, has a nicely carved ear, mustache and facial features. The field is clean, and the rim of the nickel has a milligrained edge.

Carved on a 1936 Full Horn Buffalo Nickel is Frankie. Frankie is carved with great facial features such as a slim face, large nose, and piercing eyes. He is wearing a fedora (hat) and has a matchstick hanging out of his mouth, which is inlaid with 24 karat yellow gold and copper.   SOLD

Carved on a 1929 Full Horn Buffalo Nickel is "Bow Tie Beau." Beau sports a half smile and is wearing a bowtie. The outlines of face paint clearly depict a typical circus clown, accentuated with a 24 karat yellow gold inlaid, bulbous nose.   SOLD

Carved on a 1938 Full Horn Buffalo Nickel is #3 in the Dusty & Digger Series "Work 4 Food." Dusty & Digger are carved and sculpted. Background is relieved and stippled. Dusty is holding a sign "Work 4 Food" and Digger is begging. Rim of nickel is engraved with Hobo symbols "good for a handout" and "work found here."
